In this episode, we discuss about:

  • Life perspective

  • Mental cognitive decline
  • Wisdom from age

  • Importance of family history
  • Respecting your elders

  • Summary:

Watching my friend Jordan fight testicular cancer has been a reminder of how short and precious life is. On today’s episode I’ve called on my old friend Dr. Jimmy Lopez to discuss lessons I’ve implemented from his life’s perspectives.

Together we discuss how we represent our time spent left on earth, whether it’s how many Super Bowls we have left to watch, how to many visits with our parents are in our future or how many more books can be read. This viewpoint allows us not to solely be focused on our achievements but to find contentment and enjoyment in the present day.

We also chat about how to use technologies, both old and new, to capture and further communicate our personal histories. Listen in on Jim’s beliefs on how we should not think of the elderly as burden, but as a source of wisdom.

    Quotes:

“I’m happy yet I’m blissfully unsatisfied.”

“Learn to receive love as much as you give.”

“I want to know what you know.”

“The only thing we have to look up to is our peers.”

“Mushrooms and cannabis right, this is like God’s gift to humanity.”
